of 68 Perskett Road, Wallasey--

of the one part, and the undersigned on

behalf of the CROWN AGENTS FOR THE COLONIES,

London, for and on behalf of the Government

of Hong Kong of the other part.

ASHWORTH

has been provisionally selected for

appointment as an Assistant Government Marine Surveyor (Engineer)

in the Marine Department of Hong Kong and is required to und ergo, as

a condition of his final selection, a course of training under the

Department of the Board of Trade for a period between twelve and

eighteen months which period may be curtailed at any time at the

option of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and may be paid an allowance at the rate of £460 per annum, and may be refunded

1st class railway fares necessarily incurred in travelling on duty.

NOW the said SYDNEY ASHWORTH and W. J. B. Bellis and John Bellis

in consideration of the premises do hereby agree with the said

undersigned on behalf of the Crown Agents for the Colonies that should

the said SYDNEY ASHWORTH (a) fail to complete satisfactorily the

period of training or be reported on with regard to character or

conduct during training in such terms as would, in the opinion of the

Secretary of State, render it impossible for him to approve of his final selection or (b) having been finally s elected fail to sign

an agreement with the Crown Agents to serve as an Assistant Government Marine Surveyor (Engineer) in the Marine Department of Hong Kong for three years residential service or (c) having signed the agreement
